Cowboy camp is designed for children ages 8-12 years old, with disabilities. This camp will be 3 hours per day for a total of four consecutive days. Participants will learn basic horsemanship, handling, groundwork skills, horse care, feeding, and barn management. Other fun horse-related activities will include games that teach the names of equine body parts, what horse tack is and how it’s used, and horse care, etc. Also, included will be arts and crafts, music, and snack times. This fun camp incorporates therapeutic riding lessons, unmounted equine assisted learning, and peer interaction alongside qualified TROT staff and volunteers.

 

Cowboy Camp’s goal is to help build the self-esteem and self-worth of every child through our equine assisted activities. Every child possesses the innate ability to learn and succeed. Our goal is simply to lead children towards a happy, healthy and responsible lifestyle. Throughout the course of the camp, we will assist your child with the following:
