TROT is offering an extraordinary and inclusive camp experience for people in the Tri-Cities. This camp will be 3 hours per day (9am-12pm) for a total of four consecutive days (Monday – Thursday). Participants will learn basic horsemanship, handling, groundwork skills, horse care, feeding, barn management, and a 45 minute riding lesson EACH DAY. The camp will help foster positive relationships with fellow campers, our equines, staff, and counselors.
Inclusive activities and experiences help children with and without special needs. When we include all children in our programs, they learn acceptance and understanding of all people, and that each person has unique abilities and perspectives. Inclusion allows children with special needs equal and equitable opportunities to participate in the same types of programs and activities as children without special needs. Some benefits of inclusion are friendship skills, teamwork, problem-solving skills, positive self-image, acceptance of diversity, social skills, and respect and empathy for others.
Cowboy Camp’s goal is to help build the self-esteem and self-worth of every child through our equine assisted activities. Every child possesses the innate ability to learn and succeed. Our goal is simply to lead children towards a happy, healthy and responsible lifestyle. Throughout the course of the camp, we will assist your child with the following:
Improve Flexibility

Development of a Sense of Control
