Business & Community Development Director
Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 26 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $23.00-$26.00, based on relevant experience and qualifications
Reports To: Executive Director
Position Summary
The Business & Community Development Director is responsible for building community awareness of TROT, developing strategic partnerships, increasing sponsorship support, and promoting programs and fundraising events. This position serves as an ambassador for TROT by cultivating relationships with businesses, civic organizations, schools, and community leaders while supporting the organization’s fundraising and community engagement efforts.
Primary Responsibilities

Represent TROT at networking events, community meetings, fairs, and public presentations.

Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners.

Identify opportunities for collaborations, community partnerships, and sponsorships.

Recruit and cultivate corporate sponsors for programs, events, facilities, and horses.

Maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors to encourage annual renewals.

Assist the Executive Director in developing sponsorship opportunities and sponsorship packages.

Coordinate sponsor recognition and stewardship.

Support marketing and promotion for fundraising events and community events.

Maintain records of sponsorship contacts, partnership activities, and outreach efforts.

Provide regular updates to the Executive Director on sponsorship development and community engagement.
Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.

Two or more years of experience in community relations, business development, marketing, fundraising, sales, or nonprofit work preferred.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Comfortable speaking to groups and representing TROT in the community.

Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Volunteer Coordinator
Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 10 hours per week
Reports To: Executive Director
Hourly rate: $20.00-$22.00, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
Position Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and retaining volunteers for TROT’s programs and special events. This position ensures that classes, stable hands, camps, clubs, and events are appropriately staffed with volunteers and serves as a key connection between volunteers, instructors, students, and staff.
The Volunteer Coordinator plays an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive environment where volunteers feel supported and participants receive the best experience possible.
Primary Responsibilities

Coordinate volunteers for adaptive riding classes, camps, clubs, stable hands, and special events.

Maintain volunteer schedules and communicate assignments clearly.

Help ensure adequate volunteer coverage for programs and activities.

Assist with finding substitute volunteers when scheduling changes occur.

Meet with volunteers at the beginning of classes to help ensure smooth program operations.

Support instructors by helping volunteers understand their assignments and responsibilities.

Address volunteer questions or concerns during program times.

Build positive relationships with volunteers and help create a welcoming volunteer culture.

Track volunteer participation and hours.

Provide regular updates to the Executive Director regarding volunteer needs and scheduling.
Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.

Minimum of one year of administrative, customer service, volunteer coordination, scheduling, or office support experience preferred.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to coordinate multiple schedules and priorities.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, staff, students, and families.

Dependable, flexible, and solution-oriented.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Experience in a nonprofit, equine, therapeutic riding, youth, or recreational setting is helpful but not required.
